This one-of-a-kind home has never been on the market until now. This hideaway was owned by two famous anthropologists, but more about that later. This home is set about 600 feet off the main road and is situated nicely on an almost four-acre lot surrounded by tall pine trees with a small pond located towards the back end of the property. You're less than ten minutes to the beach and 20 minutes to the Kingston Amtrak Train Station and the University of Rhode Island. Now for a little about the owners... Robert Carneiro was an American anthropologist and curator of the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. His Circumscription Theory explains how early political states may have formed as a result of interactions between environmental constraints, population pressures, and warfare. He was a member of the national academy of sciences, along with many other notable recognitions. The Scientific American wrote an article and listed Mr. Carneiro as one of the five scientist that inspired the Indiana Jones movies. Barbara Bode was an anthropologist who spent her career working as a writer, and professor, working across several colleges and universities including the University of Rhode Island and Fordham University. Barbara's fieldwork took her throughout Central and South America where she lived and worked in countries like Guatemala, Costa Rica and Peru - to name a few. She wrote two books while residing in this house. Call today for your private showing!
